Our Inspiration
Boards & Pours was born during the pandemic. Nightcaps at our local bar were now dinner parties on Alexa’s patio, discussing life, our dreams and more, over wine and amazing food. These nights became our new restaurant scene, and our primary source of connection.
It was about more than the food and drinks, though they were always the root cause of the gathering. It was about sharing something beautiful with our circle - and for that moment in time, shutting out everything that doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of life.
This feeling that was created, night after night, is the foundation for everything we are doing at Boards & Pours.
Boards & Pours has now joined forces with our talented friend and event expert, Justin Sheppard, to create one-of-a-kind food + cocktail events in Flathead Valley and beyond.

About Alexa
For as far back as I can remember, I have always loved entertaining. Whether on stage during my time as a professional musician or dinner parties for my closest friends and family, there is no greater feeling than bringing people together for an amazing experience.
My educational background is in alternative medicine, which has taken me down many interesting paths. I am fascinated by the healing properties of food and herbs, and love incorporating this into my cooking as well as skincare and natural remedies.
In the year leading up to starting Boards & Pours, I traveled the west coast in an RV with my best friend, Chris. In each town we visited, we made it a point to shop local for our homemade meals. Living in an RV certainly helped me become more flexible in my culinary creations, taking what was available to me and making something beautiful out of it.
That RV experience came to an end when I stumbled upon my perfect piece of land outside of Columbia Falls. I experienced many amazing towns along my route, but there was just something about Flathead Valley that I couldn’t resist. I’ve never met more people, concentrated in one area, so committed to supporting one other and living their best, most authentic lives.
I am proud to now call myself a resident and excited to showcase everything this area has to offer!
About Justin
I’ve always loved putting on a good party. Prior to the pandemic, I had a thriving mobile catering + bartending business in Eugene, Oregon (you’ve probably seen my Cornerstone Events beer van around town!), in addition to a beautiful private event space, The Brew Shed.
In those difficult years for public events, I took some time off to explore, eventually landing in Whitefish, Montana - and I didn’t want to leave! You can’t beat the people of Flathead Valley. I have truly found my home here.
I’m stoked to now be partnering with one of my best friends, Alexa. I’m bringing full bar service to our events, in addition to rentals of my custom-built bars. I can’t wait to help you bring your event visions to life with custom cocktails, enthusiastic bartending service, and much more.
